Courage

Lydia Cross is nine years old. She lost both her legs aged 2 after contracting meningitis.

She could have sat back and thought, as so many do in todays society - This isn't fair. Why me?

Instead though Lydia has decided to raise money for troops who have lost limbs in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This courageous little girl can be seen here

I honestly don't know what breaks my heart more. Lydia's selfless determination to help wounded troops. Or the fact there are so many of them she feels she has to help.

Well done Lydia. You are quite simply a little gem.

  1. I have two little girls a year either side of that one. Luckily, they don't say "It isn't fair." This might be something to do with the possibility (probability) of getting a slapped arse if they did, but I think there are other factors. Like it *IS* fair.

This Lydia deserves everything good the world can give her. Everything. Look at that marine, being taught to run again by a 9 year old.

Then look at a Dropshort having to buy his own kit for Afghanistan. Presumably they will supply his mortar though.

    Lydia, you absolute star.

Labour, you absolute bunch of C**Ts.

She is an absolute star, a real gem, an inspiration.
I hope her dreams come true one day, she deserves it.

I hope it is ok if I copy your blog? I want to make sure as many people as possible know about Lydia.

  3. What a wonderful little girl. Top marks to her.

If I may I'll borrow it as well. As MTMC said, the more people who know about her the better.
